RESUME
After a productive career in theater, screenwriting and directing, in 1998 she founded Producciones Astarté, a company devoted to film.
En 1999, she wrote, produced and directed the short film “Florencia de los rios hondos y los tiburones grandes”, and received the award for best screenplay and best cinematography at the Costa Rican Video and Film Festival. In 2004, she wrote, produced and directed a homage film to Pablo Neruda called “Te recuerdo como eras” and in 2005 the short film“La mesa feliz”.
Ishtar Yasin has a MA from the State Cinema Arts Institute in Moscow VGIK with a major in Theater and Cinema Acting.
Since 2000 she has worked in the production of her first feature film, “El camino”, which was chosen by the Manhein Co production Meetings, Heidelberg, Germany. The film was supported by the Fonds Sud Cinema Program from the French Ministry of International Affaire and the CECI, in Normandy, France.
